Landair Surveys provided updated feature and elevation data for a 780-hectare industrial and commercial development site southwest of Melbourne. The survey supported drainage and earthworks strategies by delivering photogrammetrically derived elevation data – verified against ground-surveyed checkpoints – to ensure accuracy.
Key deliverables included a Digital Terrain Model (DTM), which represents bare earth for drainage design, flood modelling and earthworks planning – as well as a Digital Surface Model (DSM), which incorporates above-ground features for line-of-sight analysis and 3D visualisations. Landair effectively managed challenges, such as obtaining air traffic control clearance in restricted areas and extensive vegetation removal from the DSM, to produce high-quality outputs for future site development.
