What construction setout involves
Construction setout is the process of transferring a design from the plans supplied by architects and engineers onto the ground, marking the proposed location and height of each element before work begins. It is one of the first steps on any build, from house extensions to multi storey buildings.
Working from the design drawings, our surveyors establish horizontal and vertical survey control across the site and mark out:
- Construction grid lines, footings, foundations and columns
- Slabs, walls, hold down bolts, penetrations and services
- Any other object shown on the design drawings
If the location of the new construction project is on or near a title boundary, then a Registered or Licensed Surveyor will be need to undertake a Title Survey before new construction occurs to ensure there are no issues with buildings encroaching over title boundaries. We can also assist you with your engineering projects such as pipelines, new roads, earthworks, landfills and quarries.
All our surveyors have construction induction cards, first aid qualifications and we have comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety procedures and policies including Safe Work Method Statements, ensuring safe work is undertaken at all times.
